■ 일본의 항복문서

 

1945년 9월 2일 동경만 미국 미주리호 선상에서 일본국 외무대신 시게미츠가 서명한 일본의 항복문서입니다.

시게미쓰가 떨리는 손으로 서명한 항복문서에는

 

첫째. 일본군과 일본의 지배하에 있는 모든 무장 세력은 즉각 무조건 항복할 것.

둘째. 연합군 최고 사령관의 명령에 따를 것.

셋째. 일왕과 일본 정부는 포츠담 선언의 조항을 성실하게 이행할 것.

넷째. 일왕과 일본 정부의 권한은 연합국 최고사령관의 통제 아래에 둘 것 등의 내용이 명시되어 있었고 시게미쓰와

          일본군을 대표한 육군 참모총장 ‘우메즈 요시지로’가 서명한 항복문서에 연합군 총사령관 자격으로 맥아더 원

         수가 서명한 뒤, 미국, 중국, 영국, 소련, 호주, 캐나다, 프랑스 등 승전국 대표들이 차례로 서명합니다.

昭和二十年九月二日東京湾上ニ於テ署名

下名ハ茲ニ合衆国、中華民国及「グレート、ブリテン」国ノ政府ノ首班ガ千九百四十五年七月

二十六日「ポツダム」ニ於テ発シ後ニ「ソヴィエト」社会主義共和国聯邦ガ参加シタル宣言ノ

 

条項ヲ日本国天皇、日本国政府及日本帝国大本営ノ命ニ依リ且之ニ代リ受諾ス右四国ハ以下之ヲ聯合国ト称ス下名ハ茲ニ日本帝国大本営並ニ何レノ位置ニ在ルヲ問ハズ一切ノ日本国軍隊及日本国ノ支配下ニ在ル一切ノ軍隊ノ聯合国ニ対スル無条件降伏ヲ布告ス下名ハ茲ニ何レノ位置ニ在ルヲ問ハズ一切ノ日本国軍隊及日本国臣民ニ対シ敵対行為ヲ直ニ終止スルコト、一切ノ船舶、航空機並ニ軍用及非軍用財産ヲ保存シ之ガ毀損ヲ防止スルコト及聯合国最高令官又ハ其ノ指示ニ基キ日本国政府ノ諸機関ノ課スベキ一切ノ要求ニ応ズルコトヲ命ズ下名ハ茲ニ日本帝国大本営ガ何レノ位置ニ在ルヲ問ハズ一切ノ日本国軍隊及日本国ノ支配下ニ在ル一切ノ軍隊ノ指揮官ニ対シ自身及其ノ支配下ニ在ル一切ノ軍隊ガ無条件ニ降伏スベキ旨ノ命令ヲ直ニ発スルコトヲ命ズ下名ハ茲ニ一切ノ官庁、陸軍及海軍ノ職員ニ対シ聯合国最高司令官ガ本降伏実施ノ為適当ナリト認メテ自ラ発シ又ハ其ノ委任ニ基キ発セシムル一切ノ布告、命令及指示ヲ遵守シ且之ヲ施行

 

スルコトヲ命ジ並ニ右職員ガ聯合国最高司令官ニ依リ又ハ其ノ委任ニ基キ特ニ任務ヲ解カレザル限リ各自ノ地位ニ留リ且引続キ各自ノ非戦闘的任務ヲ行フコトヲ命ズ下名ハ茲ニ「ポツダム」宣言ノ条項ヲ誠実ニ履行スルコト並ニ右宣言ヲ実施スル為聯合国最高司令官又ハ其ノ他特定ノ聯合国代表者ガ要求スルコトアルベキ一切ノ命令ヲ発シ且斯ル一切ノ措置ヲ執ルコトヲ天皇、日本国政府及其ノ後継者ノ為ニ約ス下名ハ茲ニ日本帝国政府及日本帝国大本営ニ対シ現ニ日本国ノ支配下ニ在ル一切ノ聯合国俘虜及被抑留者ヲ直ニ解放スルコト並ニ其ノ保護、手当、給養及指示セラレタル場所ヘノ

 

即時輪送ノ為ノ措置ヲ執ルコトヲ命ズ天皇及日本国政府ノ国家統治ノ権限ハ本降伏条項ヲ実施スル為適当ト認ムル措置ヲ執ル聯合国最高司令官ノ制限ノ下ニ置カルルモノトス千九百四十五年九月二日「アイ、タイム」午前九時四分日本国東京湾上ニ於テ署名ス

INSTRUMENT OF SURRENDER

We, acting by command of and in behalf of the Emperor of Japan, the Japanese

Government and the Japanese Imperial General Headquarters, hereby accept the provisions

set forth in the declaration issued by the Heads of the Governments of the United States,

China, and Great Britain on 26 July 1945, at Potsdam, and subsequently adhered to by the

Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, which four powers are hereafter referred to as the

Allied Powers.

We hereby proclaim the unconditional surrender to the Allied Powers of the Japanese

Imperial General Headquarters and of all Japanese armed forces and all armed forces

under Japanese control wherever situated.

We hereby command all Japanese forces wherever situated and the Japanese people

to cease hostilities forthwith, to preserve and save from damage all ships, aircraft, and

military and civil property and to comply with all requirements which may be imposed by

the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers or by agencies of the Japanese

Government at his direction.

We hereby command the Japanese Imperial General Headquarters to issue at once

orders to the Commanders of all Japanese forces and all forces under Japanese control

wherever situated to surrender unconditionally themselves and all forces under their control.

We hereby command all civil, military and naval officials to obey and enforce all

proclamations, orders and directives deemed by the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers

to be proper to effectuate this surrender and issued by him or under his authority and we direct

all such officials to remain at their posts and to continue to perform their non-combatant

duties unless specifically relieved by him or under his authority.

We hereby undertake for the Emperor, the Japanese Government and their successors to

carry out the provisions of the Potsdam Declaration in good faith, and to issue whatever

orders and take whatever action may be required by the Supreme Commander for the

Allied Powers or by any other designated representative of the Allied Powers for the

purpose of giving effect to that Declaration.

We hereby command the Japanese Imperial Government and the Japanese Imperial General

Headquarters at once to liberate all allied prisoners of war and civilian internees now under

Japanese control and to provide for their protection, care, maintenance and immediate

transportation to places as directed.

The authority of the Emperor and the Japanese Government to rule the state shall be s

ubject to the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers who will take such steps as

he deems proper to effectuate these terms of surrender.

우리는 이로써 일본대본영이 현재 어디에 있건 전 일본군과 일본 지배하에 있는 모든 군대의 지휘관들에게 무조건 항복을 즉각 명령할 것을 명한다.

우리는 이로써 모든 관청, 육군 및 해군의 직원들에 대해 연합군 최고사령관이 본 항복을 유효화하기 위해 적당하다고 간주하여 그 자신이나 그의 위임에 따라 발한 모든 포고, 명령, 지시를 준수하고 집행할 것을 명하며, 모든 상기 직원들은 연합군 최고사령관이나 그의 위임에 의해 명확하게 해임되지 않는 한 각자의 위치에 남아 각자의 비전투적 임무를 계속 수행할 것을 지시한다.
